A Success Story:

Meet Cheyenne

Cheyenne, one of the dogs I photographed at the Cedar City Animal Shelter was adopted over the summer. She was a mix of border collie, lab and another breed. When I started this project my main goal was to help. To help get one more animal out of the shelter and into a loving home. A "good" photograph of an animal can change any persons feelings towards him or her.

When I started this project I was a little worried. It was a big step outside of my comfort zone and I wasn't sure how I was going to complete such a task. But, I had some great assistants to help along the way and some very eager animals to help get my job done. The hardest part about this project was not being able to take all of the animals out of their cages. In some of the photographs I think having the animal behind the cages hinders their true personality. They look more vulnerable than they usually are. I hope to one day continue this project in another city that I might find myself in. It would be a dream come true if one day animal shelters were empty. It seems a little far fetched right now but you never know what could happen with a little motivation and cute animals waiting to show their puppy eyes at their future adopters.
